The only time she’s quiet…

Football and other stuff….

Well day two of school is accomplished and I have to admit I’m exhausted.  I think most of it is emotional and I know things will fall into a routine but I’m not the happy, enjoying my children mother I want to be.  School has gone well and I am enjoying that but afterwards I want to climb into a hole and recover until 8am the next morning.

I’m hoping God works all this out in me because I don’t like what I hear coming out of my mouth….lots of moaning and not much uplifting.  I know the kids probably want to toss me out for a new mom.  YUCK.

Just keeping it real guys, just keeping it real.

On other less depressing notes…..
Here’s a few great pictures of the kids playing around at our oldest son’s football practice the other night.

Oldest son…..
(who is that with that water bottle???? UGH!)

The race at the other end of the field:

“Whew mom, I beat my boys!”

On another note:
I’m trying to get my blog working correctly for those of you who are on my contact list.  In the past you were able to get an email and click directly on a link that took you to my most recent post.  Several of you have told me that it’s not working lately.  If you don’t get a direct link with this post will you leave a comment or shoot me an email and let me know?

So that means you Dad, Sandy, Melinda, Mom, Andrea and Randy!

Always in Him…
even when I’m evil mommy…..

Football…it’s that time of year.

Ann’s blog at Resolved to Worship never ceases to touch my heart.  Her son Scott broke his hand and will be unable to play football this year.  It just breaks my heart to know this sweet little boy’s dreams of football this year have vanished.  Ann has such a sweet way of pointing her family to Jesus.  Check out her blog here and her post about Scott here.  And please remember to pray that Scott’s hand would heal, sounds like it was a pretty nasty break.

Our football season has begun here too.  Both of the older boys are on different teams this year.  I watched our oldest son practice last night.  He moved up an age bracket this year and is playing with the 9-10 year olds. While my husband has stayed behind to coach our younger son’s team our oldest is making his way with the older boys (sniff, sniff)

Warming up before practice…..

This series shows him doing those belly buster things….
They make me sick just watching.

And this little fellow has got to be the cutest thing….
He’s the coach’s grandson

Now for practicing the plays they are learning…

while baby girl makes a new friend and gets covered in SC red dust.

Remember to pray for Ann, her family and Scott….

Always in HIM….

Baby Girl gets a HAIRCUT

While my sister and her family were here we all got hair cuts.  Well, everyone except for my hubbie.  I always feel bad because I hate to have her work while she’s here but she’s the BEST….
DId you hear me sis?  THE BEST!!!

So here is baby girl before she got her hair cut like mom’s…..
And here is her hair now…

Isn’t it adorable???
Always in him…..even on PMS days like today….

Family Fun

This weekend my sister and her family came to visit on Friday and then my mother in law arrived on Saturday.  My hubbie preached at church on Sunday so the troops were in for the big day.

Saturday we took a trip to the park.  I took some pics of my sister’s family.  I ended up liking this one the best.  It’s so candid and unposed.
With a little watercolor touch……

And here’s a funky one of my and my nieces.  My sister took this one.

More later!  My laptop’s battery is dying!!!
Always in HIM…

Baseball, Lakes and Tongues

I took these at the lake several weeks ago.
Isn’t he cute???

First Saturday happened…

And then Monday happened!
It must be our week for mishaps.
Saturday was bee sting day (read here)
And today our oldest son did this at the lake.  Don’t know how, don’t know where.  But YUCK.
He said he stubbed his toe on a rock.  It bled and bled and bled.

This was taken Monday night after we got home and I was redressing the wound.
There’s a bit of Neosporin on his toe but definitely NO SKIN!!

Tuesday we have a trip planned to the Water Park.  I think I need all of you to pray for a safe trip!!!

PLEASE!

A bad day

Saturday was a bad day here.  Our middle son was stung by a bee while swimming.  You see the results below and then as we were getting in the car to go have dinner we got too close to a yellow jacket nest and I got stung, as did baby girl.  The good news?  My oldest, who is allergic to yellow jackets, did not get stung!!!

Let me tell you those nasty little guys are aggressive!

Here’s our poor baby after his lip was about half the size it started out…..

Today, Monday, it’s still swollen and goes through various degrees of “swellingness” throughout the day.  (I know, that’s not a word!)

Any suggestions?  I’m trying a tea bag as I type.

Thanks,
IN HIM and thankful for HIS protection over our oldest….

We’re Back!

After traveling for what feels like the better part of the month we’re home.  Here’s a rare family shot (with flash…yuck) from our weekend in Alabama.  We visited my husband’s mom and that side of our wonderful family.  It was loads of fun and we had a great 4th of July.

Family Tradition at the beach #3

THE SUNSET CRUISE
One more thing we always manage to do at the beach is to take a sunset cruise.  It’s aboard this awesome catamaran.  We’ve done it for so many years now that I’ve forgotten how many.  We leave from Beaufort NC and travel out for about an hour and the sun sets as we come back into dock.  Here are some photos of our trip this year.

Some photos where you actually can seem me!  (snapped by my kids or my mom)
