Two weeks have gone by…

And I have firmly accomplished homeschooling four kids, beating myself up about my inadequacies, playing in the rain, grumping at the kids, surviving my hubbie being gone for a week, lesson plans (yuck), and being overall grumpy and unlovable.

Okay, so who else?

I try to remind myself I can’t do everything but the sneaky spirit continues to creep in.  I want to enjoy my kids, have a grateful spirit, and find joy in my bone-tired body.

I once heard "You know you are over the target when the enemy is firing without ceasing."

That would be me.

I’m over the target all right.

The call to homeschool four?  Yep, I was right on there.

Learning balance?  Yep.
Learning to leave the school room whether the lesson plans are done or not?  Yep.
Did I say I hate lesson plans?
Oh, yea, I think I did.

So this coming week Monday is a light day.  Friday is a field trip.
School only three days!  Yippee.
Grace?

Oh yea, grace.
Aren’t we supposed to apply that to our own lives?

You know I thought homeschooling was about the kids.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha……ha, ha, ha.
Kids?
Yea, right!!!

I think God is a lot more concerning with my character right now than he is my kids.
Eeeek….what have I gotten myself into??  It’s not supposed to be about me is it?

What about them, Lord?
You know….them!!!
The kids.
The ones who NEED the attitude heart adjustment.
Not me!

I just wanted to encourage you to fight the good fight. Keep on keeping on. Sometimes, for me, it's just "do the next thing" or "move forward" that seems so difficult.

I have enjoyed your blog, and meeting your family through homeschool blogger.

I noticed your sweet comment on Marsha's blog, and that you live in South Carolina. We moved from that area several years ago, but miss it so much. We still travel back frequently because my daughter's neurosurgeon is in North Carolina.

Hang in there, chin up, and all those sayings that are meant to cheer you on…..you go girl!! 😉

    In Him,

    Rebecca

I am so sorry to hear you are struggling physically. I hope I didn't sound like I was telling you to pull yourself up by your boot straps! ):

I will be in prayer for you and I'd like to add you as a friend,

    Rebecca

  3. I found your blog while searching thru the members list. Your "Three Knights and a Princess" caught my eye because I have 3 Knights (ages 8, 6, and 2) and a princess (1 year old). I read your first two posts and I fill like I'm in the same firezone that you are. Satan has really give me a good licking this year (and we've only been at it 3 weeks). That's one of the reasons I came to HSBlogger. I'm creating a blog with the hopes of meeting other hsers so I can find encouragement to get thru this rough spot. I have very few friends that homeschool and I'm not real active with my hs group right now because of my two younger kids. It is definitly a balancing act trying to hs two and pacify two at the same time. Just wanted you to know…your not alone:-) I hope to have my blog up and running this weekend…check it out when you have a minute.
