Photoshop Cool Stuff (Elements 6.0) Tip 1

I recently upgraded to Photoshop Elements 6.0 and have been waiting to order the book to go along with it.  I love others tutorials.  In it I found this cool trick.

Photo ONE (posted just a day or so ago)

Photo TWO (with a little tweaking)

Can you spot the difference?
There is this cool tool called Liquify……
Before I tell you what I did I’m going to show you how to use it.
From the editing section of Photoshop Elements 6.0:
1.  Click on the Filter menu
2.  Choose Liquify
3.  When that dialog box appears pick the 5th tool down from the top.  It’s on the left hand side of the screen.  It looks like a square with it’s sides pinched in a little.  Click on that little guy.
4.  It’s the Pucker Tool.  And it puckers anywhere you click it.  I made the circle that indicates the size of the tool I’m using a size that my nose fit inside perfectly.  Then I clicked.  After one click I centered the right side of my nose inside the circle and clicked.  Then the left side of my nose.  Click.
5.  And voila! … a smaller nose.
Go back and look….yep, it’s tinier!
Cool huh?
Wonder what else I can shrink?  Maybe my muffin top (better know as a fat roll)
Have fun!

note:  this info. was taken from the book mentioned above
The Photoshop Elements 6 book for digital photographers by Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski

I'll take a smaller nose too please. And a little off the thighs and bye bye muffin top, and no more love handles. I'd never have to work out again!

my daughter altered a picture of me and made me tall and skinny! I was skinny years ago, but I have NEVER been tall before! LOL

Julie! Very cool! 🙂 I haven't played with that tool much, but I see photographers use it all the time, usually to slim someone down (you know, those "rolls" some of us get).

You did a great job because it's not very noticeable. 🙂

    Thanks for sharing!

Now that is one trick that I had not learned yet. Cool.

I use that tool occassionally, too. 🙂 Those little bumps that just need a bit of nudging inward…no one needs to know!

You are SO funny! Your nose was perfectly perfect to begin with!

Aren't you just loving pse6? I've been having a blast with it. It has saved numerous photos for me already and I hardly know much about it.

Had to comment again…I just tried this on a photo of our youngest daughter…it took them quite a while to figure out what I did but I really liked this effect. She has a very tiny bridge and her nose tends to look flat in some photos…she actually looks more like herself with this trick!

I'll post the before and after pix in a sec…come look!

  10. If only it would "pinch" like that in real life! I'd be pinching my thighs all day long!

I just found your blog and am really enjoying it.

    blessings,

    Dee @ boysrys

  11. That is really cool! I do think your nose looks fine in the first picture though. 😉

I might have to go play and see if I can pucker one on my photos now. 😀

    Thanks for sharing!
