  1. No stress allowed. You can change whatever you need to change and it won’t hurt a thing so follow your gut instinct, of course after you have sought the wisdom of God, and trust it. The way to test this is to measure the rule of His wisdom by James 3:17, if this is what you find in your choice, it is good and He is in it. No stress allowed. Whenever i find my self in the midst of a whirlwind because i ‘have’ to make a choice, i scurry on over to Proverbs 3:5-6, read and pray through it and seek God’s wisdom. I say again – No stress allowed 🙂

  2. I’ve not used MUS. But we have used Saxon from 2nd through 8/7. I love Saxon and the DIVE cds when they hit 54 or 65. We moved to Teaching Textbooks for prealgebra and above. I love that too.

Sorry I couldn’t be more help. If you have specific questions I could probably answer them 🙂

  3. I think it depends on your and your kids personalities. Saxon is very repetitive. Some people like/need that. Math U See is does review, but not pages and pages of review (I’ve used this with my kids to a certain point). I’ve lately added Singapore Math to Math U See because it covers things that M.U.S doesn’t cover. After a few books, I switch to Keys to Math because my kids get tired of M.U.S.

I am NOT a math maniac and I’ve changed math curriculums a bunch of times. Saxon is a good solid program and using the manipulatives in the younger years can actually make it fun, even though those black & white books are soooo boring (to me). I’ve used it. I allllmost used Math U See, except that it was black & white too. I think the videos would make it more fun. Especially for your gang. I decided to try Bob Jones Math this year with Jake and it is really colorful and a good program. We are fans of color at the Carter house. :o)

I haven’t used MUS, but we did use Saxon this last year. My son (who is probably a bit on the gifted side and who gets bored easily) really disliked Saxon. We’re going to try Singapore next year.

Like someone else said (sorry, brain is getting sleepy), Saxon is very repetitive, so if you have one that doesn’t like repetition, it might not be a good idea. On the other hand, if you have a learner who needs the reinforcement of being able to do part of the page each time without much hassle (as my second son may need), Saxon is great.

That probably didn’t help much, sorry. With only a first-grader to go on, I’m limited in what I can offer. *wry smile*

We LOVE Math-U-See! (This coming from me, the person who hates math!) It is really a great math program. I cannot say enough good things about it!

We ***love*** Math-U-See!! Don’t know if that helps or not! hee hee 🙂

And by the way, I received the package from you in the mail last week – or was it the week before? Sorry I didn’t get on here sooner to let you know! Thanks!!

    Blessings on your weekend!
