A Visit from My Sister

This weekend my sister and her two girls came for a visit.  It was fun having her around.  My daughter loves my niece Kensley.  She got so excited when she learned that Kensley was going to sleep in her room.  It was like having a slumber party each night they were here.  Here are some pictures from our weekend.

Almost Midnight…

Let’s see….
when they first went out to the camper it was about 8:30pm…..that was time for  getting blankets situated, all the stuffed animals that live in the kids beds to the camper and pillows and sleeping arrangements.
then they needed popcorn, the laptop to watch Starwars, Gatorade and napkins.
but the movie wasn’t loud enough so they needed speakers.
"okay set for the night.  Kiss.  Night!"

Are you kidding?  Even though I specifically took them a pee bottle there have been multiple trips to the inside bathroom.  One trip back down to the fire pit area for a forgotten Starwars Gun, one trip back in for Benedryl, just ONE more blanket and a teeth brushing and I finally think I’ve got the boys settled in to the brand new camper for the night.  It’s 11:26pm.  Let’s see if I hear the front door open any more.

Meanwhile me, baby girl and sparky the dog are all cuddled up in my big old kingsize bed getting ready for a little snooze ourselves.

whew, this camping stuff is work.   even when the thing is set up 15 feet from our front door!!!

Happy Risen Christ Day

Guess what??

We are now the proud owners of a "sleeps 8" pop up camper.  My husband has wanted one for so long and we spent some of our tax refund on it this year.  I can’t wait to see it.  We’ll put it up and take pictures tomorrow.  So you’ll get to see it soon!

I need a little help

Does anyone out there make your own fabric softener or laundry detergent???
Please let me know if you do or know anyone who does.
Thanks

The little things that amaze me about my children

Tonight we went and watched the boys practice football.  And since there’s not much to do I try it get a few shots in while I’m waiting……and then a theme arises, a moment in time that stands still for just a minute.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a58/juliestew/IMG_7125.jpgTonight it was watching my daughter’s emotions play across her face as she learned what it felt like to swing on a fence gate.  Wow.  How simple and great life can be!!Maybe I’ll give it a try… swinging on this thing afterall!!
I don’t know though because my feet feel a little weird leaving the ground.
But I really think it was worth it.  This is kinda fun.  Look Mom!!!

And I get a big smile at the end for a job well done!!!  You go girl!!!
What a simply perfect moment on my birthday.  I love the creative side of photography.  The part that makes me feel the moment.

It's that time of the year…

Yep, it ‘s March 12th…..it’s getting awfully close to the big 42!!!!  YIKES

But it’s also time for …..
FLAG FOOTBALL

And of course with flag football comes demanding 2 year olds chanting "I want some drink mommy"!  NOW!!
And along with that MUST come the fun apart from what’s going on on the field .  So here’s the record of that tonight………………
Let’s see who can slide into home base and get their entire little bodies Filthy filthy filthy!!!!!

And of course we must end with (or really begin with) the painted toes that look just like mommys when she came home from her vacation.  There are so many firsts in a little girls life and today is the first time she’s ever had her toes painted to look just like her mommas!!  Yippee Girl!

The only girl in the family

Our daughter is the only girl in our family…well, besides me, of course.  It’s so fun to watch her grow up after the blessing of three sons.  I truly believe they take as much delight in her as my husband and I do.  Here are a couple of pictures of them helping her get all dressed up…

That ‘s what it takes to be a girl in our house….frilly dress and a light saber!!!

And while she was getting all dolled up Fred was playing a little hide-n-seek.

Can you believe he’s only 8 months old???  He’s huge!  He’s already so much bigger than his mom.  It’s hard to believe he was just like this…

Have a great day.
