How do you know you live in the Southeast??

Well, there are many things I could say but I think pictures speak a thousand words, don’t you?

One in her new bathing suit and one in his new Pirate pjs.  Both comfortable outside…..

One mad…..

The kids with the camera……

Flying?

Not really…….

Off to the chiropractor in pj’s and a bathing suit.

Up and running again…..

Yea, you thought it was me exercising didn’t you?
I wish, no, really I don’t.
Our internet, that is.  Spring brings change.  Change is fun and also hard.

Times are changing…..
This is just is just one way I know.

Here’s another way I know……
Swimming in Jacksonville FL

We’re loosing teeth and swimming.

And after a long winter my camera is out again…..

Internet issues and Easter

We spent Easter in Jacksonville Florida looking for a new home.  We did not find the one God has for us yet.  We also still have ours on the market.  We stayed in a beautiful resort and enjoyed 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, a putt-putt, and fed huge fish and turtles.  It was a blast.

Upon returning home our router wasn’t working.  Linksys made me so mad when I called in for help wanting me to pay 30.00 for something I knew would take no time to fix.  So I called the phone company and am waiting on a router/modem combination.  Good-bye Linksys.

I have some photos to post but that will wait until I’m at my computer.  I’m on the kid’s now.

I also wanted to share my CVSing with you yesterday.
The kids and I went looking for 1/2 price Easter candy and some eggs.
We left with some of what we were looking for and saved 38.00 and spent .51 cents.  Yippee!!!!!
I had a couple coupons and a 15.50 CVS extra buck for the quarter.
Gotta love that.

More later…..

Field Trip Day….Yea

Friday Rocket Man was home from his new job in Florida and we planned a trip to Table Rock.  It’s a short drive and I’m wanting to get my fill of all this beautiful country before we leave it for Florida.  I’m sure there will be lots of adventures there but the Foothills of SC are just gorgeous.  Especially in the spring and fall.  Summers are spent at the lake playing with our friends, The Harris’.

So Friday we visited a small place and saw The Rock Man, The Glass Lady, The Reptile Man, and had the best ice cream and hamburgers we’ve had in a while.

Most of the pictures were taken in Rock Man’s shop.  We spent hours in there.  He’s such a great guy.  Last week he came to our Classical Conversations Group and gave a presentation on rocks, crystals and minerals.

I had the camera for a bit but then it was taken out of my hands and my youngest son took pictures.  He did a pretty good job.

One of our favorite parts was being introduced to the pocket flute (tin whistle but wooden).  We purchased two while there.  I love the sound of Rocket Man’s.  It’s so beautiful……

So here’s our day in pictures…

Just for fun…..can you name any of these???

I took this looking through a glass kalidiescope.   It turned out so cool.

My son took this photo.  I loved the way he saw the light and photographed it.  Maybe I’ll raise a photographer yet.

I admit, our house is crazy.  Some seem so calm but ours is wild.  But every once in a while God will give me a glimpse of what I’m trying to teach them……to love and look out for one another.  Here baby girl gets a lift up to see the flavors of icecream available to try.

Lovely without makeup…….Rocket Man, me and the new flute.

Looks fun, huh?
It was.  We hope to go back soon.

So What Do You Think?

New blog design…..
kinda like new clothes.  It fits me perfectly now.

Dad, she’s not a bit like me is she?

And here’s Son#2 enjoying a GIANT ice cream!

Happy Humpday!

A Wild Ride

These days I sometimes feel like my head is spinning.
My husband leaves in 2 days for our new home in Florida.
I wonder what life is going to be like with 4 kids and one parent again.  When he used to travel it didn’t phase me.  Now that he’s been home for a year I’m feeling a little "yikes".
So pray for me if God leads.
And for the home in Florida he has for us.
We lived in rural SC for so long.  I think the setting suits us.
My birthday is tomorrow……45.
When did we get old?

Poor neglected blog

Recently I can’t think of anything to blog about, nor do I think about my blog.
Life is crazy with getting the house ready to sell, looking at houses in Florida, and missing my hubbie already who will be gone the day after my birthday.

My best friend may come visit this weekend.

Daylight saving has me up at 6 since it’s really 7.

We made it to church on time yesterday.

We sold our truck.

Rocket Man wants a jeep.  After all, we’ll be in Florida.
This one’s kinda cool

Of course girl’s ideas of jeeps and boys ideas of jeeps often differ.

I turn 45 on Friday.  Yikes, where does time go.
Any donations for a face life?????

Snow in the South

So I’m probably the LAST person living in the south to blog about our snowfall but alas, better late than never!!  Even Southern Savers.com and Hip2Save blogged about the snow instead of coupon savings that day.

So here we go:
The night the snow began….

My favorite snowman in the neighborhood:

Early the morning after:

On my way to CVS……snow has already melted in the driveway as baby girl sticks her head out to yell goodbye…..

Snow photos are not complete without icicles…..

The snowball…

The snowball fight….

The silly smile has begun….

Oh, I think his snowball is bigger…..

More scary smile photos….

At least she is wearing a coat.  Her brother was in short sleeves.

Couponing and CVSing

I love CVS.  I admit it.  Always have.  Always will.  But now that I coupon I love them even more.
Today I stopped in for some Valentine candy since I had some extra bucks and really didn’t feel like spending any money on Valentine candy for the kids.  I’m a little like my Rocket Man and think Valentines is overrated.  All that candy will be slashed to half price tomorrow.
But here’s what I got:

4 Tide Stain Release Tablet Packages (normally 3.99 or more each)
2 Packs of Orbit Gum (one was free)
2 Reese Cups
1 Nestle Crunch Heart
1 Dove Bliss Free + overage
2 Packages of 3 Musketeers
1 Lipstick (7.00 for 1.00)
1 TInkerbell candy pack for the girl in the family

I spent $5.34 and saved $39.50.
Can anyone give me a big ya-hoo!!!

A few things I love…

Well I do not like grocery shopping but ever since learning to coupon it’s become a challenge thing…
Kind of "Can I beat the system" or "How much can I save?"

What i do love is coming home with a receipt this long…..like a mile long…..

And folding it in half…..

Exactly in half……

The top half has everything that I purchased ON SALE

And the bottom half has nothing but coupons on it…..(reducing my original purchase price!!)

Then the total being 60.00 less than when I began scanning coupons….

Christmas even jumped up on the table to see what I was doing

Promise I’ll clean the table before you come home honey!!

The best deals of all?

  • Yogurt marked down to 1.00, .50 and .30 because it expires today.  Did you know you can freeze yogurt?
  • Organic Coleman Chicken marked down to 7.00.  I bought 5 packs.
  • Organic Harvest Farm Steaks marked down 1/2 price.  I bought 3 packs for my 9 year olds upcoming birthday.  He loves steak.
  • All of my yogurt that I bought I had dollar off coupons for so I made money on the yogurt.
  • And completely filled up the refrigerator downstairs with Welch’s Grape Juice because it was on sale and I had 1.00 off coupons for each bottle making it 2.50 a bottle.

So I’m set in the meat department for a while.

Did you girls know you can visit your grocery stores in the AM and meat with an expiration date of that day or the next is usually marked down 1/2 price?

It’s a great way to eat organic…..on a budget!!!!!

Happy Grocery Shopping…
