Football

I thought it was time for a few football photos.  Last Saturday we had two playoff games.  We won one and lost one.  This coming Saturday our 8 year old will play for the Championship.  We’re very excited!

Here’s our firstborn during their Saturday morning game.  We lost by just a little!!!  He was so sad.  I felt badly for him because he eats, sleeps and breathes football.

Here he is again on the field.  He’s #5.

Then we drove an hour in the other direction for our afternoon game.  Now is this a beautiful place to play football or what???

Here’s our 8 year old right before kickoff.

Son and Dad (coach) after the game!

More to come!

Great pics, Julie! Love that first one & that is definitely a pretty place to play football!

About the 40D… yay for you!! 🙂 I think the biggest adjustment is figuring out where all of the buttons/functions were. I was coming from the 300D though & I know the camera you have now is different from that one. Have you seen the 50D? It's just out & even has video capability & an ISO that goes WAAAAAAAY high! Yes, I'm drooling. I'm trying to convince hubby how nice it would be to not have to bring a camera AND a video camera on vacations… LOL!

    Have fun with it! 🙂

Those are great pics of your son playing football. That's neat that his dad is the coach. It looks like your son really love playing. I'm amazed at the commitment people put in to play football. I'm sure you'll have many, many more great pics of him in the future. Nothing quite like those scrimmage pictures.

    Hey Julie!

Yay! You got your camera! I think that was my first impression too- its size!

Canon doesn't have a preset named vivid like Nikon does and I'm not sure which of their presets is most similar to that one. I read about the different presets when I first got my camera & chose one I thought would suit my style the best & have just left it there. (and i forget which one it was! I'm nursing the baby right now) But you can make up your own "user defined" preset- you can bump up the saturation & contrast. I'd play with it a little and see what you come up with!

Hope you guys did well in the game today! I loved the photos you posted – I can so relate to the one game here and another there, driving all over to hit all the games! today though we just had Scott's – the play off championship for the south district – I was so nervous for him, I didn't even throw up (I've been bad at that this pregnancy) cause my stomach was in knots 🙂 – they had a win and are headed to the north to the champion game there. Since I'm a first year football mom, I know I could take lessons from you on how to not get all nervous right? 🙂 Looks like your boys have had a great season – my second son's team didn't win last week and he was sad too – but was good cheering for his brother today. Good lessons in life I think.

Three cheers to you and your boys and family and thanks for all the sweet comments. It's encouraging to know there are other mom's out there doing what I'm doing and surviving 🙂

Yes, that is an amazing place to play football. Your boys are doing a wonderful thing: playing football with dad in the beautiful fall weather. Doesn't get much better than that! Maybe I'll have the mountain view one day!
